8 weeks out
- Get 3+ removal quotes (QuoteMyMove handles this in one form)
- Declutter — Marie-Kondo any room you haven't used in 6 months
- Notify the landlord (if renting) and start lining up returns of keys/deposits
4 weeks out
- Confirm removal company, parking permits, lift access
- Order packing materials or book a packing add-on
- Notify GP, dentist, kids' schools, insurance providers
1 week out
- Confirm utility transfer / closures
- Pack a 'first night' box (toilet roll, kettle, charger, snacks)
- Empty the freezer, defrost the fridge
- Charge all devices, label every box
Move day
- Photograph meter readings at both ends
- Final walkthrough of old property
- Hand keys to new owner / estate agent
- Cuppa. Pizza. Bed.
